Alaska Airlines welcomes unaccompanied child as they have a dedicated flight attendants to attend to the child’s requirement from start to finish.   2. To qualify for Alaska Airlines junior jetsetter minor program, your child must bring along their birth certificate, a passport that should be presented at the time of checking in at the airport.
  3. Unaccompanied minor service is mandatory if the children is travelling alone with Alaska Airlines and have attained 5 years, 12 years and up to 18 (optional) years of age.
  4. Unaccompanied minor service is an optional service for a minor who have attained the age of 13 to 18 years of age.
  5. If a young adult between the age group of 13 to 18 years are required to travel on connecting flights on another airline then they need to use an unaccompanied minor service with the airlines.

Alaska Airlines Guardian Contact and Gate Escort

The accompanying guardian of the minor must get an escort pass from the airport ticket counter. The escort pass will enable the guardian to escort the minor till the airport gate. From the airport gate the minor will be assisted by the airport staff. If the minor is travelling internationally then they need to meet the following guideline:

  1. Should have a valid passport, visa documentations and other travel documents as specified by the airlines.
  2. The guardian is expected to complete all the international customs form at the airport.
  3. If a minor is travelling without a guardian/ parents or with both or with one guardian should present a letter of consent signed by the non travelling parents/guardian.

For Travel To Mexico

  1. If a minor is travelling to or from Mexico and have attained the age of 18 years, then they can travel with a letter of consent signed by the guardian/ parents.
  2.  If the minor is a resident of Mexico they must present the following documents if they flight is originating from Mexico:
  • Three copies of letter of consent/ SAM document
  • Original birth certificate/ copied of the same
